MTSD Annual Budget Hearing

  • Range Line Conference Room 11040 North Range Line Road Mequon, WI, 53092 United States (map)

To view the complete 2022-23 proposed budget book, go HERE.

Some items of note are:
-a decreased enrollment of 22 students
-State aid of $1.06 million
-A 2.5% increase in equalized property values
The only fund to increase is Fund 39, which is used for paying off debt. Although a preliminary tax rate drop of 19-cents is proposed, the budget does include two federal payments. MTSD Executive Director of Business Services Sarah Viera said that those funds will be applied to support the academic recovery plan, which addresses learning lost during the pandemic. But those funds are also helping to supplant the budget so MTSD will face a significant “fiscal cliff” once those dollars run out, Viera said. (See NewsGraphic article by Lisa Curtis, “MTSD Annual Budget Hearing is Monday” from the Thursday, July 21, 2022 edition for more information.)
